Classic Beef Lasagna – A Comfort Food Favourite

Rich layers of saucy beef, creamy white sauce, and gooey cheese—Beef Lasagna is always a hit. Perfect for cosy nights or weekend feasts.

Ingredients:


• Lasagne sheets (3–4 layers)

• 600g Divine Deli Beef Mince

• 1 onion – diced

• 3 garlic cloves – crushed

• 2 cans chopped tomatoes

• 2 tbsp tomato paste

• 1 tbsp chutney

• 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

• ½ cup red wine or beef stock (optional)

• 1 tbsp BBQ spice or beef seasoning

• Salt, pepper, paprika, Italian herbs – to taste

• 150g butter + 150g flour + 1L milk (white sauce)

• Some Olive Oil

• Grated cheese – to top!


Method:


  1. Cook the Beef Filling

• Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil.

• Brown the mince.

• Stir in tomatoes, paste, chutney, sauce, and wine or stock.

• Season and simmer for 20–30 minutes.


  1. Make the White Sauce

• Melt butter, stir in flour to make a roux.

• Gradually whisk in milk until smooth.

• Cook until thickened; season.


  1. Assemble

• Preheat oven to 180°C.

• Layer white sauce, lasagne sheets, and beef.

• Repeat layers, ending with white sauce.

• Top with cheese.


  1. Bake

• Bake uncovered for 30 minutes, then 15–20 minutes more until golden.


  1. Serve

• Rest 10 minutes before slicing.

• Serve warm with salad or garlic bread. Enjoy!
